Press Release: ASTRO hires IT director, health policy analyst

Fairfax, Va., August 3, 2010 - The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has hired a director of information technology and a new health policy analyst, adding to the vast talent in its Information Technology and Health Policy departments.

Sean Corcoran has been hired as director of ASTRO's Information Technology department to which he brings over 15 years of computer systems experience. Corcoran majored in political science at State University of New York College in Fredonia, N.Y. Prior to ASTRO, Corcoran was the director of quality assurance, product management and customer service at TMA Resources, an association management software company. He has also held information technology positions at Grocery Manufacturers of America and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society. At ASTRO, Sean will be responsible for planning, directing and managing ASTRO's information technology strategies.

In addition to Sean, ASTRO is also pleased to note that Daneen Alcaraz will be joining the staff as health policy analyst. Alcaraz was previously a project manager at Alizeum, a health communications firm outside Paris, France, and prior to that, the international health and prevention coordinator at GMC Services, a French insurance company headquartered in Paris, France. She received a bachelor's degree in health science from the University of Miami in Miami, and a master's of health service administration from George Washington University in Washington.
