Anthony Zietman, M.D., ASTRO president and a radiation oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, was featured on the Kojo Nnamdi show, which is broadcast on NPR Washington, D.C., affiliate WAMU on March 9, 2010. The show examined the safety of radiation therapy in light of the recent The New York Times articles and also featured Walt Bogdanich, the writer of those articles.

In a March 4, 2010, The (New Jersey) Star-Ledger article on a local lung cancer patient being treated with brachytherapy, Timothy Chen, M.D., was quoted on the rarity of using this treatment for lung cancer. The patient was originally told she has less than a week to live, but according to Dr. Chen the brachytherapy treatments successfully shrunk the tumor and the cancer has stopped spreading.
CBC News in Canada ran a March 17, 2010, story based on the study co-authored by Lisa Barbera, M.D., a radiation oncologist at the University of Toronto. The study, published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, examined how often and why dying cancer patients in Ontario visited emergency rooms and found that many of the visits may be avoidable.
Sanat Sanghani, M.D., was mentioned in a March 22, 2010, The (Alexandria, La.) Town Talk article on the Rapides Cancer Center’s raffle benefitting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Dr. Sanghani, a radiation oncologist at the center donated two 21-speed bikes to benefit the cause.
