Academic or Private Practice: Private

How did you find your job (i.e. web forum, word of mouth, etc?): email-word of mouth

Number of job interviews: 20

General advice: apply early and often.  Take time to make your decision and seek out people who have worked for or with your future partners for advice about the job.  Get a lawyer and make sure that you are protected.  If their lawyer won't make changes that your lawyer says are standard, then reject the contract and take another job.

Academic or Private Practice: Academic

How did you find your job (i.e. web forum, word of mouth, etc?): ASTRO website, several private practices though I I interviewed with just by cold-calling practices in the ASTRO directory in the city I wanted to live in.

Number of job interviews: 5

General advice: I generally found for myself and several others that academic practices take much more longer to make final decisions, so don't be discouraged if you dont have anything locked up by December.  I found out about my acceptance only in Feburary, some ppl only found out about acceptances to academic practices in late March, early April.
